It wasn’t anything special, just a random act of kindness. I helped an older woman carry her bags to her car. We smiled, exchanged a few words, and most likely, we’ll never see each other again.
But what stayed with me was a smile. This tiny moment gave me a real feeling of connection—with people, with the core of what it means to be human.
Will this change the world? Probably not. But it’s a start.
To those of you out there who are struggling with your burdens—your loneliness, your sense of being cut off from the world of humans—this is for you. I hope, even if just for a moment, you feel seen. I hope, in that moment, you feel connected.
